Italian star Brazzi was propelled to international stardom in 1954’s Three Coins in the Fountain, which was followed by Summertime (1955) opposite Katharine Hepburn. Her highly-publicised marriage to Tony Curtis made her even more of a talking point, but that ended in divorce in 1962 - after which she scaled back her career. Other major roles included Scaramouche (1952), The Naked Spur (1953) and Living It Up (1954). Janet was in the early days of her career when she was cast in Little Women, and she went on to become a cinematic icon for her (surprisingly short) turn in 1960’s Psycho. Her philanthropy - including strong activism for HIV/AIDS - earned her huge respect in later life, and she died in 2011 at the age of 79.

By the 1980s she had made a transition to more theatre roles and TV series, and became the first ever celebrity to launch her own perfume. A Place In The Sun (1950) earned her huge acclaim, and after a brief spell of disillusionment with the industry in the early 50s, she bounced back with the likes of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (1958) and Suddenly, Last Summer (1959), for which she won a Golden Globe.

Margaret was one of the most popular child actresses in cinema history, after beginning her career in the early 1940s at the age of four.
